New song and BBC interview

Posted by madhack on Oct 9, 2014

BBC Radio 6 Music has interviewed David Gilmour and Nick Mason ahead of the release of The Endless River. David discusses Rick Wright, for whom the album is a tribute, and how he's been underrated by many, including his fellow bandmates. Other topics include how the album's name came about, how the interpersonal relationships in the band might have influenced their music, and whether they expect to ever release anything as Pink Floyd again (the answer is, unsurprisingly, "no"). At just over 13 minutes, it's worth a listen for any fan.

They've also released to the radio a new song, "Louder Than Words," apparently featuring the only lead vocals by David on the album. There are radio rips available on various sites including YouTube; we aren't linking them because we imagine Columbia will be working to take them down as they pop up.
